CN Sports Academy and Rising Warriors Hockey Club start an Initiative to Promote the National Game CN Sports Academy along with Rising Warriors Hockey Club has commenced an initiative to promote the Indian national game of hockey in schools across Ahmedabad. This initiative is supported by the One Million Hockey Legs Project started by Dutch Hockey Olympian Floris jan Bovelander through his Bovelander Hockey Academy. The initiative was kicked off earlier this month by Bovelander himself at the CN Sports Academy; the initiative which will not only train children but also conduct periodic trainers training programme.
Presently, there are more than 30 students from various schools who have already joined the on-going hockey coaching programme. Many more camps and leagues have been planned for the year. The idea is to broaden the student base playing hockey by forming school based hockey teams in various age categories. The project will tap students and teach them the basic skills of the game.
