In cooperation with NGO Caritas and the regional partner Navjeevan we started a project in Amritsar and Jhalandar, Punjab. Two of our coaches went to Punjab in July to train 8 trainers. There is a lot of drug abuse amongst children in Punjab. To keep these children after school time and during the weekends away from drug scenes, we started a hockey for development project.
The trainers organized clinics for about 80 children on four different locations. Now, five months later, we can say that the clinics are very much a success. 380 students from 8 schools and 160 youngsters from 15 villages are regularly joining the hockey clinics now. 75 like-minded people from villages and 10 principles are actively participating and helping in organizing the clinics.
Due to lack of funds there is no possibility to grow more at the moment. But so far this is a very impressive growth.
